This is all part, of course, of a bigger problem that I have tried to address in this book: America has been giving itself away piece by piece through the years. Our border problems over all have gotten worse, not better through the years. Then, on top of that, we started sending our manufacturing jobs overseas. The greedy few at the top weren’t satisfied with that so they started to send our service based jobs over seas as well.
On top of all this, we decided that we would become China’s biggest market for manufactured goods and to that end have run up billions of dollars in loans with them.
Every American now owes China about $6,000 apiece!
You thought we won the Cold War? Think again. We won the war with the Soviet Union, but in relation to China, basically, they own us.
Why aren’t we all protesting this fact in the streets? Why haven’t we driven the politicians from power who made this happen? I’ll tell you why. Most of us are just too distracted with trying to stay alive in the current economic mess in our country to be able to keep track of things like this. We’re distracted with a million and one things, including the high cost of just about every thing: medical care, college, gasoline (depending upon the month), groceries, home energy, etc. This is understandable, of course, that most of us are not going to become activists and just want to be able to make a living and enjoy our time with our family and friends.
However, the way things are going, all of us who care about this country’s future have to take a good look at what’s going on and start to ask ourselves: what can we do?
